Two Children Suffer Serious Injuries After Brighton Car Crash

Posted by Jeremy Rosenthal | May 12, 2020 | 0 Comments

Two young girls and their father were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries following a car accident that took place in Brighton on Saturday, May 2. The 13-year-old and 9-year-old girls were passengers in their father's vehicle when they were involved in the serious accident on I-76 near East 96th Ave.

The police are still investigating the crash and haven't released details on how it happened. But we do know good Samaritans were quickly on the scene to pull the three victims from their car before ambulances arrived.

The father of the girls suffered broken bones but has been released from the hospital. Both girls remain at Denver Health Medical Center in the pediatric intensive care unit, though. They suffered broken bones and damaged internal organs, and they're now recovering from surgery.

Common Injuries in Colorado Car Accidents

The victims involved in this Colorado auto accident each broke several bones, and we wish them well as they continue recovering from this tragic collision. Unfortunately, broken bones are among the most common injuries you can get from a car accident. In particular, it's not uncommon to break one or both arms and legs, as well as one or more ribs and vertebrae. And it can take months to heal from these serious injuries, sometimes even requiring physical therapy to walk again.

Another common injury you see in Colorado car accidents is damage to the internal organs, such as the kidneys, liver, and spleen. These can be perforated or ruptured completely in a serious car crash. Other common consequences of car accidents include:

  • Neck injuries
  • Back injuries
  • Burns
  • Head trauma
  • Nerve damage
  • Contusions
  • Internal bleeding
  • Eye injuries

If you think you're suffering from these or any other common car accident injuries, you need to get medical treatment right away. Whether you go to the hospital in an ambulance directly after the car accident or opt to see your doctor a few days later, it's important to let a medical professional examine and treat you. Don't wait to get medical care because you're worried about the costs, as you will likely be able to seek compensation to help pay after the accident.

Hire a Colorado Car Accident Attorney After Your Accident

If you've been injured in a collision in Colorado, it's a good idea to consult an attorney who deals with car accident cases. This is because you may have trouble dealing with the auto insurance company when you need compensation to pay for your medical bills, property damage, missed wages, pain and suffering, and more.

When you're in pain and recovering from injuries from your car accident, the last thing you need to be doing is constantly calling the insurance company to find out when you'll get the payment you need for the damages you suffered. Let a legal professional handle that so you can focus on healing. Contact a Colorado car accident attorney today to schedule a consultation so you find out more about your legal options after a serious collision in this state.
