Head-On Collision in Fort Collins Injures Three

Posted by Jeremy Rosenthal | May 15, 2020 | 0 Comments

Three people were injured in a three-car accident in Fort Collins on Tuesday morning. At about 6 a.m., a 22-year-old man was driving a Subaru Legacy west on Carpenter Road when he struck the side of a Ford F350 that was going east.

This caused the Subaru to spin around on the road and hit an Audi A4 also going east. The 22-year-old driver of the Subaru was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 37-year-old driver of the Ford F350 and the 34-year-old driver of the Audi had non-life-threatening injuries.

Police shut down Carpenter Road west of Larimer County Road 9 as they investigated what caused this head-on car accident. What is known so far is that the weather was foggy and the accident happened as the drivers went around a curve on the street.

Car Accidents in Fort Collins

Fort Collins isn't known for having lots of car accidents. In fact, in 2019, Allstate insurance named it the 7th safest city in the country since the average driver here makes an auto insurance claim about once every 12 years. But that doesn't mean there's no risk of car accidents at all here.

You never know when a driver in this city will collide with your car and then refuse to take responsibility as the at-fault party, leaving you to pay for the expenses related to the accident. These might include everything from medical bills and property damage to pain and suffering that you have to deal with after the crash.

This is why it's so important to talk to a Fort Collins personal injury lawyer if you ever get into an auto accident in this city, as you deserve to seek compensation for the damages. A lawyer can walk you through the legal process from start to finish, helping you get the money necessary to repair your car and get the medical treatment you need to fully recover.

Common Causes of Fort Collins Car Accidents

When you hire an attorney, the cause of the accident will be investigated to help determine fault. For reference, some of the most common causes of Fort Collins auto accidents include the following:

  • Distracted driving
  • Speeding
  • Drunk driving
  • Running a stop sign
  • Running a red light
  • Failure to yield right of way
  • Lane violations
  • Driving too fast for the weather
  • Illegal left turns
  • Road debris
  • Construction
  • Car defects

If you suspect your accident was caused by these or other factors, you can let your lawyer know. But he or she will also perform an investigation, complete with talking to any witnesses, reviewing the police report, and gathering any other evidence that can prove what happened. Once the cause of the accident is determined, you can move forward with the process of pursuing compensation.

If you're ready to find out what your legal options are after a car accident, it's time to talk to a personal injury attorney. Contact a Fort Collins lawyer today to schedule an initial consultation so you can begin the first steps of your case!
